Nano Botox: a view from the side

We figure out whether Nano Botox serum is an effective alternative to Botox injections, or is it another hoax for the purpose of profit ...

As one of the alternatives to injections of botulinum toxins, the so-called Nano-Botox is often considered. It attracts many buyers primarily because it does not need to be pricked - the drug is marketed as a serum with components that, when applied to the skin, have an effect similar to the Botox effect.

It is not surprising that this drug attracts attention: it is injections of classical botulinum toxins that confuse people most of all, who want to get rid of wrinkles, but are afraid to give injections, about which there are a lot of scary myths. Nano-Botox does not require injection.

In fact, it would be premature to consider Nano-Botox a full-fledged alternative to Botox. He still has not found use in cosmetologists, despite the fact that he has been known for a relatively long time. No tests, studies and evidence of its effectiveness are known, but if it really helped get rid of wrinkles, it could turn into a product with billions of sales and would certainly attract the attention of medical specialists. And what is equally important for the average buyer: there are no good real reviews about him, which already makes us wary. All that buyers know about it is very catchy advertising promises, and the advertising for the product is very aggressive and reaching the goal - people really buy Nano-Botox, at least for the sake of checking: it will work or not. Fortunately, the price of the tool allows you to do this.

What exactly do customers get as a result, and what results can they boast of?

The composition of the tool and the declared effect of its components

There are no unambiguous data on the composition of Nano-Botox. On the official websites of physical and online pharmacies, one list of the components of the product is given, in advertisements - another. Consider both and check if this difference is significant.

The composition of the drug looks like this:

  • Water as a solvent;
  • Hyaluronic acid - a substance necessary to maintain the natural structure of skin tissues, stimulate activity and increase the number of fibroblasts, maintain a normal water balance of the skin;
  • Acetyl hexapeptide-8, also known as argireline, is a protein that can have the same relaxing effect on muscles as Botox, and there is reason to believe that it can act even with simple application to the skin;
  • Dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline - declared as a stimulator of collagen production, that is, a substance whose action is designed to increase skin elasticity;
Skin Protector Elastin Fiber

The dipalmitoyl hydroxyproline claimed in the preparation should protect the skin's elastin fibers.

  • Palmitoyl pentapeptide-4 and palmitoyl tripeptide-5, which have a similar effect to the previous component - they contribute to the production of elastin, collagen, glycosaminoglycans and fibronectin;
  • Ceramides, which, according to the manufacturer, are designed to retain moisture in the skin and prevent it from drying out;
  • Shea butter (shea butter), which is also positioned as a stimulant for the synthesis of elastin and collagen;
  • Phospholipids as the main components of cell membranes. Allegedly, as part of the product, they contribute to the rapid regeneration of deformed skin areas (that is, simply wrinkles), but in reality the body itself produces them in the required quantities and there is no need for additional supply with them;
  • Dipotassium glycyrrhizate is an antioxidant that supposedly prevents damage to the skin by external factors and inhibits its dehydration and thinning;
  • Marine collagen, which is positioned as an analogue of human collagen and seems to be able to replace it with a deficiency.In fact, it is not clear how collagen will penetrate through the epidermis into the deeper layers of the skin (its molecule is very large for normal transdermal transport) and why the body should use it, and not its own endogenous collagen;
  • Superoxide dismutase is another antioxidant whose importance for the fight against wrinkles is very, very ambiguous.

Of all the above, only argirelin can be considered a truly effective component - today, pharmacists experiment with it a lot, and in studies, it really shows botulinum toxin-like activity when applied to the skin.

Argireline - muscle relaxant protein

Only Argireline, declared as part of Nano-Botox, according to the site medside.ru, can really give an effect like with botulinum therapy.

However, in medical and cosmetic procedures it is used very rarely due to a poorly predictable effect and insufficient data on its pharmacokinetics and safety.

Another composition is declared on various advertising sites. It indicates:

  • A complex of rare amino acids, and the lack of the names of these "rare amino acids" immediately raises the suspicion that if they are, they are standard for various cosmetics arginine, methionine and others. The description of the composition indicates that these amino acids nourish, moisturize the skin, normalize the metabolism in it and protect it from the negative effects of the environment. That is, they do not have any unique actions;
  • Silver supposedly intended for skin disinfection. In fact, an advertising ploy;
  • The octamioxil peptide, positioned as a "safe Botox analogue." Information about him was nowhere to be found except for the advertising of Nano-Botox. Reference books on the biochemistry of such a substance do not know;
  • Chicory root extract. For him, the ability to stimulate local microcirculation is indicated. It is not clear only the “microcirculation" of which, and most importantly, what does this have to do with wrinkles;
  • Nanobotuline peptides for which the names of the peptides themselves are not indicated. We can hope that this is at least argireline, but there is no certainty about this. Advertising claims that these peptides “push out wrinkles from the inside” and preserve natural facial expressions, which “are excluded after Botox injections” make one seriously doubt that this information is indicated by a person who at least understands the principle of the action of botulinum toxins;
  • Hydrolyzed wheat proteins are another component without a specific action, apparently intended to create an image of a natural product.

Obviously, this information is presented in such a way as to be understandable specifically for the target audience of the product - women who for the most part do not understand biochemistry, anatomy and physiology, but who react appropriately to statements about “protecting the skin of the face”, “fighting free radicals ”and“ smoothing wrinkles ”.

Judging by the available reviews of the tool, it can be assumed that either part of these components is not in the tool, or their content is extremely small. The drug looks like a fairly light liquid with a whitish tint. Any of the compositions with therapeutically significant amounts of the components would have to look like a rather thick emulsion, especially since for the transcutaneous penetration these components should be present in large quantities.

Feedback

What can I say, complete mess. Another dummy that I managed to buy. For half a year I decided to go to deliver Botox, I almost signed up, my friend recommended a good clinic in Moscow, but then I came across this miraculous offer to buy anti-aging serum Nano-Botox and decided - give it, I will try. It will help - excellent, I will manage without injections. If it doesn’t help, then Botox cannot be avoided. It didn’t help (It costs 1400 rubles per bottle, the packaging is so elegant, beautiful, but it has ... pink water).There is no smell of any whey with proteins and all kinds of amino acids. And it smells like alcohol with water and dye. Dries the skin, well, obviously alcohol. And of course, no effect on wrinkles. In general, if you want to order, do not order. I already went to Botox, pierced, there is nothing to worry about. It cost 2,600 rubles, it has been already 3 months, they completely removed the interbrows, forehead and crow's feet. Such a science for me.

Inna, Odintsovo

And finally, if you take a photo of the packaging of the product, which comes by order of the customers, then here in the composition you can find components that are not in the composition of the funds mentioned above:

Composition of Nano Botox

On the packaging you can read about completely different components of Nano Botox.

As a result, which of these compounds is considered to be a real Nano-Botox is not entirely clear.

There is such a nuance: Nano-Botox serum is sold in the form of lotion and as a spray. It is extremely difficult to imagine a spray, which includes, as advertised, collagen and hyaluronic acid - these high-molecular substances can hardly be sprayed into the liquid.

But this is not the main thing. It is more important to know if serum works at all.

Does Nano-Botox act as advertised?

Information that Nano-Botox helped someone get rid of facial wrinkles or at least reduce their severity was not found. Almost all the reviews that can be considered unbiased are negative: buyers report that the use of the product did not help them smooth out wrinkles and certainly did not have the effect that Botox has.

Positive feedback was found only on the websites of sellers, which makes it impossible to be sure of their objectivity.

Also, information on the results of the Nano-Botox tests was not found anywhere. A truly effective drug of this level, claiming to become a “Botox analogue”, would attract the attention of not only cosmetologists, but also pharmacists, who would at least test its effect and publish the results of studies in specialized literature. But it was not possible to find any expert opinion about Nano-Botox.

Therefore, today there is no reason to believe that Nano-Botox is able to smooth wrinkles and even more so have an effect comparable to that of Botox. But the prerequisites in order to consider it a hoax for gullible buyers are more than enough.

A critical look at the effectiveness of serum

If we assume that the composition of the tool includes all the declared components, then even theoretically they cannot have an effect comparable to that of Botox. And the effect itself is associated with numerous contradictions.

At a minimum, argirelin (even if it is part of the product) is much weaker as a muscle relaxant and when directly introduced into the muscle. When applied to the skin, only a small part of this substance penetrates into the muscles, but the main thing is that with such an application it is impossible to predict its diffusion into neighboring muscles. This means that it is quite possible violation of facial expressions and the appearance of side effects. Actually, just to protect against these consequences, they make injections that allow you to very accurately and precisely immobilize the necessary muscle fibers. Simply applying the product to the skin will not achieve this effect - the product will “spread” over a large area and denervate different muscles.

Muscle relaxants applied to the skin can immobilize non-target muscles

Muscle relaxants, simply applied to the skin of the face, and not injected pointwise into the muscle, can denervate non-target muscles and lead to a violation of facial expressions.

On a note

It is for this reason that Botox itself is still not used externally in cosmetology: it diffuses unpredictably under the skin and often immobilizes the muscles that cause the formation of wrinkles. Moreover, it needs to be applied a lot, because only a small part of it will pass through the skin.

Simply put, if the manufacturer guarantees the absence of side effects, it means that the product has no muscle relaxants and it is not able to relax muscles with the elimination of wrinkles. If the remedy can eliminate wrinkles, then it definitely cannot be used on its own, not knowing what specific muscle fibers should be immobilized.

The instructions for use of Nano-Botox indicate that the microemulsion should be applied to areas of the skin with wrinkles and rubbed in a circular motion until completely absorbed. For a person who understands the principle of the action of muscle relaxant substances, this means that the product does not have components that can have a botox-like effect, otherwise with such an application the drug would be guaranteed to cause extensive immobilization of part of the face.

Therefore, the main effect that can be counted on when using Nano-Botox is moisturizing the skin, toning it a bit by regular finger massage and aromatization. This, by the way, is quite useful, including for the fight against wrinkles, but Nano-Botox is definitely not needed for this, and any moisturizer or lotion is enough.

Further, a lack of information about the manufacturer contributes a bit of mistrust. According to advertising assurances, the tool is very effective, but its manufacturer does not at all strive to declare itself, and very little is known about it. In pharmacies, it is indicated that Nano-Botox is produced by Belvi-Rus LLC, information about which is impossible to find anywhere else and other cosmetic products that are not known. And in some places they report that Nano-Botox is produced either in France or in Holland ...

Again, in the photo of the packaging from a buyer from Ukraine, the name of the manufacturer is already different - "Ecogrin":

Feedback

We ordered with mom, she wanted to get rid of wrinkles, I - for prevention. They read that one bottle is enough for a week, we decided one for two and order. The consultant called us and said that the effect is not enough from one bottle for two, if used correctly, much more is needed. In general, I spoke convincingly, as a result, my mother ordered 4 bottles for 1800 UAH, I - one bottle for 460 UAH. The package arrived, we opened it. Cute bottles, they have a pinkish solution. The smell is pleasant. According to the instructions, the spray should be applied to the skin with wrinkles twice a day. Apply. Unpleasant sensations - dryness, tightness of the skin, as after a hard soap. After 1-2 hours passes. The bottle is designed for a week, in fact, it lasts for two. Used with mom for two months, the effect is zero. That’s not at all how simple it was with soap. No good, no harm, just over 2 thousand to the wind. Then she began to read, found negative reviews that people write that all this is a divorce. Here, I share my experience. Maybe someone will help save their money.

You need to understand that if Nano-Botox was at least half as effective as the advertisement promises, the name of its manufacturer would already be booming around the world. The tiny startup Allergan, which produced Botox for the needs of surgeons and neuropathologists, after discovering its ability to smooth wrinkles, became the billionth corporation in several years.

Allergan company - Botox manufacturer

After the discovery of Botox's ability to smooth wrinkles, the Allergan pharmaceutical company, which produced the drug, immediately became widely known throughout the world.

Provide the manufacturer of Nano-Botox with an effect similar to Botox, but which can be obtained at home without injections, and today it would also be, if not one of the world pharmaceutical giants, then definitely a prominent large company. Instead, he is forced to promote his products through artisanal sites with second-rate advertising. This does not fit in with the image of the manufacturer of a revolutionary new cosmetology product.

By the way, certificates of conformity and information about the drug cannot be found on the website of Rospotrebnadzor.

About the lack of positive reviews and the abundance of negative opinions of customers, we have already said. In addition to this, Nano-Botox is not used by any of the qualified cosmetologists: it’s someone who, and they are definitely interested in attracting clients who are afraid of Botox injections to their clinics.

At the same time, a huge number of buyers complain that after applying Nano-Botox they did not get the desired result. Moreover, many report that there is no effect at all after using the drug, and neither sellers nor representatives of the manufacturer respond to complaints and claims.

Reviews on Nano Botox indicate its low efficiency

Unbiased reviews indicate the complete absence of the declared effect of the use of Nano-Botox.

All this suggests that Nano-Botox is another deception, useful only to its manufacturer and sellers, and generating profit from the hope of buyers that they can replace the real Botox, avoiding the need to make injections.

Be that as it may, Nano-Botox has, though not much, but dignity ...

Nano-Botox is completely safe when used correctly ...

It is interesting that in all the negative reviews about Nano-Botox, all customer dissatisfaction is due to the fact that the tool does not have the desired effect. Even if this is so, we will pay tribute to the manufacturer: the tool also does not have undesirable effects.

So, nowhere was it possible to find reports that Nano-Botox at least caused an allergy in someone. But in the declared composition there are a lot of substances that are potentially capable of being strong allergens: complex proteins (the same collagen), phospholipids, plant components. Of course, it can be assumed that the remedy is simply “young” and so few people used it that simply relatively rare cases of allergies simply did not have time to occur. But no less likely is that, in fact, there are no complex components in the whey at all.

Similarly, there are no known cases of development and other side effects - itching, facial expressions, immobilization of non-target muscles.

We conclude: Nano-Botox is safe. It can be safely applied to the skin on the face and wait for the result. In this way, it is similar to many dietary supplements that are not positioned as medicines, but which many people use only to report to themselves that they have taken some measures for their own health. So the use of Nano-Botox allows you to conduct a long and stubborn fight against wrinkles, and at the same time increase your own financial literacy.

Nano-Botox analogs and whether to try them on yourself

As we have already seen, Nano-Botox itself is not a separate drug, but at least two or even three different drugs with different declared compounds. But judging by customer reviews, the results of their application are the same.

In addition to those who want to try the Botox effect wrinkle remedy, they can also buy other drugs that have a similar effect. For example:

  • Noah Derm - serum in small ampoules, the composition of which is quite similar to the composition of Nano-Botox. It contains palmitol tripeptide-5, diaminobutyroyl dipeptide and wheat peptides (they are called “a unique peptide complex developed by Swiss scientists”), as well as a number of auxiliary components. Advertising and the declared effects (including promotional materials) of Noah-Derm are very similar to those of Nano-Botox;
  • Cream Deesse “Skin Radiance”, which includes argireline;
  • Cream Boto Max with hyaluronic acid and a set of plant components, from which you should not expect the “Botox effect”.
Botox Cream - Boto Max

Cream Boto Max is another product that claims to have an effect comparable to the result of botulinum therapy.

Similarly, dozens of creams, emulsions, serums and lotions may appear on the market, for which an action similar to Botox is promised, but which are quite simple to apply to the skin. Until at least one of these drugs passes complete clinical trials, you can’t count on their effectiveness.

With some confidence, you can relate to the analogues of Nano-Botox containing argireline - this substance actually acts as a muscle relaxant. However, one should not expect an unambiguously positive result from the use of these agents: without a targeted and competent introduction into the muscles, there is always a risk of immobilization of non-target muscles. That is, only a doctor should administer this drug. At home, the use of these funds can be fraught with completely unpredictable effects on the face.

Feedback

A nightmare, I ordered three bottles of this product, I thought - well, finally, I found a way to get off this Botox needle. And then I went to read here what people who used wrote. Thank you for opening my eyes in time. Everything that is written in the reviews is all true. I was supposedly phoned from the online store in the same way, consulted, explained that since I already went to Botox and use cosmetics, I need at least 3 bottles. So I ordered. Now, now I watch how people complain about this fake, and I know for sure that I won’t go to the post office.

Can true Botox (with botulinum toxin in the composition) eliminate wrinkles when applied to the skin without injections

Interestingly, Botox itself is capable of immobilizing muscles even when applied to the skin, without injection. This was shown in studies: when a solution prepared from a powder, which is usually injected with a syringe into a muscle, is rubbed into the skin, the muscles in the area of application cease to contract when expressing emotions, and the wrinkles that arose when these muscles contracted disappear.

This effect, however, has been very limited. With this application of Botox, for example, on the area between the eyebrows, it is almost impossible to completely eliminate the eyebrow wrinkle. And if you apply an excess amount and still get rid of it, excess drug will fall into the muscles above the eyebrows and lead to ptosis.

Century ptosis is a side effect of botulinum therapy

When applying botulinum toxins directly to the skin, for example, in an eyebrow wrinkle, eyelid prolapse (ptosis) may occur.

Similarly with other parts of the face - Botox when applied to the skin either does not provide the desired effect, or leads to the involvement of unwanted muscles in the process of denervation, and with it to side effects.

That is why cosmetologists do not use Botox in this way, although they know about this effect. The face is a too important and crucial area where the correction of muscle activity can be carried out only with high accuracy, namely with the introduction of the drug with a syringe and needle. Plus, it is obvious that with external use, Botox consumption will be several times greater than with injection. It turns out that for a significantly larger amount of money, the cosmetologist will provide a much lower quality and more fraught with side effects service. This is completely inexpedient, especially since the doctor perfectly understands the safety of Botox injections, which, perhaps, their fearing client is not aware of.

Is it worth avoiding injections of this Botox?

It is completely clear that the demand and popularity of Nano-Botox, as well as other non-injection drugs “with the Botox effect”, is due only to the fear of their customers before injections of true botulinum toxins. People can listen to and read various myths on the Internet about the “terrible consequences of Botox”, they can completely misunderstand the principle of botulinum therapy, and even after talking with a specialist they will still be of the opinion that, they say, now there will be no side effects, but after 20 years all these injections come back to haunt ...

In fact, Botox injections are much safer than applying botulinum toxin to the skin or using creams with argireline. Here are just a few reasons:

  1. Most of Botox's myths about the dangers are completely groundless, and some are frankly stupid. Botox has been studied in laboratories for more than 20 years, its effect on the body is being studied, and today it is quite obvious that it does not cause cancer, dementia, addiction and other horrors that sellers of dietary supplements from cosmetology and various fakes scare gullible buyers;
  2. Any remedy, even for external use, which has the same effect as Botox, acts in the same way as Botox. Only Botox itself is delivered to the muscle with a needle, and the funds for external use penetrate the skin themselves. In this case, there is no difference in the safety of drugs - they act on the muscles in the same way and will cause the same side effects. The whole "horror" of Botox is only a physical puncture of the skin with a needle. But with such a puncture, the doctor administers the drug to the nearest millimeter, and when rubbing the product on the skin, it will almost certainly get into those muscles that do not need to be denervated. That is, the likelihood of side effects associated with the external use of Botox analogues is much greater than with his injections;
Botox injected into muscle

With Botox injections, the doctor injects the drug into the right muscle.

  1. Using a tool that can immobilize certain muscles is dangerous if it is done by a layman. A qualified cosmetologist knows exactly what muscle fiber is responsible for the appearance of a particular wrinkle, and often this fiber can be quite far from the crease on the skin, and it will be completely useless to process the wrinkle. Attempts to just “anoint the wrinkle” with “a la Botox” cream can lead to the development of completely unpredictable facial defects, from a “wax face” to ptosis with complete closure of the eyes.

We conclude: if the remedy can have the same effect as Botox has, then it can also cause all the same side effects that can occur during botulinum therapy. If the tool is positioned as completely safe, it means that it is completely ineffective.

All this means that standard Botox injections are much safer than games with botox-like remedies at home. Moreover, when choosing a good clinic, you trust your beauty with a world-famous product, tested on millions of patients, and a high-class cosmetologist who is sure to do everything in the best way.
